What Can You Do Today When You Are Stressed Out: Affirmations and Actions for Positivity

What can you do today to manage stress and anxiety: Affirmations and actions for positivity. Stress can be defined as any type of change that causes physical, emotional or psychological strain. Stress is your body's response to anything that requires attention or action. Everyone experiences stress to some degree but what can you do--today to help manage stressful times in your life.

Think about how your body handles any kind of demand or what it perceives to be a threat. When you sense danger—whether it's real or imagined—the body's defenses kick into high gear in a rapid, automatic process known as the “fight-or-flight” reaction or the “stress response.” The stress response is the body's way of protecting you.

Not all stress is bad for you but beyond a certain point, it stops being helpful and starts to cause major damage. Stress that feels overwhelming can have a negative impact on your health, mood, productivity, relationships, and your quality of life.

You may feel constant irritability, anger, impatience or feel wound up. You may be overburdened or overwhelmed. You may feel out of control, not sure of what to do to handle the negative emotions you are feeling. So, what do you do when you are facing those imminent feelings? What do you do when your emotions and actions cause you to feel out of control?
